County Court Bailiff

County Court Bailiffs are employees of Her Majesty's Courts Service and are responsible for enforcing orders of County Courts by recovering money owed under County Court Judgments. They can seize and sell goods to recover the amount of the debt. They can also serve court documents and effect and supervise the possession of property and the return of goods under hire purchase agreements.

As County court Bailiffs are employees, this means that they are salaried civil servants. They can enforce on judgments up to £5,000. They work under the authority of a Warrant of Execution which can be requested from the County Court for a fee of £100.They will collect your judgement debt, court costs, warrant cost and interest (if stated on the County Court Judgment) from the debtor. If unsuccessful, there is no abortive fee, unlike a High Court Enforcement Officer, where there is an abortive fee.
